Advice #07: A Practical Guide to Headlights and Taillights. Lights are crucial for night driving and to notify drivers on the road. State driving laws generally require that these lights be replaced when they fail.
When was the last time you thought about car headlights? Do you know what lights to use in fog, rain and snow? How can you improve range of vision, and reduce blurry vision?
Headlights don’t always come to mind, but it’s important to check them regularly to know when and how to use them so you and the road are safe. Headlights and taillights are crucial for night driving and to notify other drivers on the road. State driving laws generally require that these lights be replaced when they fail. Failure to comply with these precautions may result in traffic violations.
Headlights are required after sunset or before sunrise, in fog or rain, and when visibility is less than 200 feet. The high beam also needs to be dimmed at a distance of 200 feet from another vehicle.
Prices for headlights or taillights vary, but halogen bulbs average ₹1,100-1,500. You can replace the bulb yourself with a wrench or screwdriver, as long as the power distribution system and wiring are not damaged.
